Dean Goes Clubbing

We like to stay close to the Travel Industry here at Designate and the phrase ‘if you can’t beat them, then join them’ springs to mind.

Whilst we have many fitness fanatics around the office, runners, swimmers, cyclists and triathlonists – we can count the number of golfers on one finger.

On Monday, 9th March, TigerBay’s Business Development Manager, Neil Morgan, Bill Maxwell, and also Jeff Orton, Company Secretary at UK General Insurance Group and myself attended the ITT Golf Masters event at the Hanbury Manor Marriott Golf Club in Hertfordshire.

Now in its nineteenth year, the ITT Golf Masters is a great opportunity to catch up with some old faces and meet some new ones. The great and the good of the Travel industry attended, all Institute of Travel and Tourism members and included 18 holes of golf on a fabulous course, followed by a 3-course dinner and awards presentations.

As the beginner on the team it’s always a slightly nervous affair – you know so many rules, regulations and etiquette traps to fall into. So once the first shot was away from the first tee it took no time to get into the swing of things (sic).

The team had a cracking round and thankfully I managed not to embarrass myself too much on the day – the teams combined score is used to calculate the team champions for the day.

Surprisingly, we won! Here are some of the pics.
