Turn of Year is when travel companies are all advertising. How can we make icelolly.com standout in a crowded and generic market?

The trigger

Literally make some noise. Use ice cream vans to not only act as a brand icon but as way of sonically demonstrating the choice faced by customers. And do it visually in a way that no one else is.

“We wanted something bigger, better and noisier that cut through. And that's what we got. Designate can't be licked at what they do.”

The solution

A noisy, standout and very memorable stopframe animation campaign. We developed ads featuring beautifully created characters, a cast of hundreds of ice cream vans, (including one very special flying one) and a gnome called Gnorman.

The results

Visits to icelolly.com rose by 300% year-on-year in the first week of broadcast.
